The Beginning
Hi Quilting World. I am Katie Fleming and my husband and I live in the gorgeous state of Florida
A little about me...
I am a self taught quilter and crafter. A lot of quilter’s out there have inherited their craft from their parents. The first that comes to mind is Camille Roskelley. Check out her blog at here ! It is such a sweet blog with great content and adorable pictures of her family. I'm sure you will fall in love with her fabrics, family and quilts.
Now my mom and I joke about how I definitely did not inherit my creativity from her (although she does have her moments of creative genius). Believe it or not my dad is the one I got it from. When I was growing up, him and I would play music together for hours writing songs and brainstorming long after my mom and my brother went to sleep. Check out his music here. In addition to his creativity I also inherited the "night owl" gene and soon realized that my productivity and creativity soars after 9 pm!
When I got my first sewing machine he showed me how to use it, thread the bobbin, and start sewing. Now that I am married and out of the house it is so much fun when we start brainstorming about our ideas and thoughts again. He gives me feedback and ideas for my quilts and crafts and I help him with fun ideas for the children’s ministry at Relevant Church
So why the blog???
For so long I have utilized the online stories, tricks and techniques of so many quilters and designers that it’s time for me to give back. Through this blog I hope that you find useful tricks, tips and lessons that I have learned. I also hope you find great friends who share the same passion as you.
